Well Daniel is almost 2 months old, guess I'd better let you know how he got here.

We were very fortunate to have an easy pregnancy. Our due date was December 20th, one day after school let out for Christmas break. I was able to work until our last day. Boy were my co-teachers happy. We had one huge Christmas party with all three classes, parents kept asking me if I was having twins! Then next day was my Dr. appt. My blood pressure spiked that day. I had been swollen for several months, but with the blood pressure spike they became worried. They sent me down to the lab for blood work and a non-stress test. We talked with our Dr. before the test and we agreed that the best course of action was to schedule an induction. We decided I would come in on Friday evening (the next day) and we would induce on Saturday. They baby showed he was doing just fine, but my blood work was not too great. They let me go home anyway if I promised not to do anything.
We came back on Friday evening and got all ready for the induction on Sat. They started the pit at 5 am. Our Dr. came in a couple of times to check me, but I never made any progress. I used my self-hypnosis successfully. I was never in any pain. By 10:30 or so our Dr. came in and checked me again, still no progress. We made the decision to have a C-section a little before 11am. Boy did things move fast. Daniel was born at 11:28am. I didn't feel a thing. I am not a needle person, in fact I'm terrified of them. Because of my hypnosis, I was able to calmly take my spinal block.
Daniel had some problems with his breathing and he had fluid on his lungs. I did not know any of this until later. He gave the nurses his very first gift.... he peed all over them in the OR :) Due to Daniel's breathing problems I didn't get to see him until late Sat. Scott stayed with him and taped him for me. He would bring the video to me and let me watch.
Well I have more to tell, but I need to eat.
