Summer is almost over, I cringe as I type those words. I am not ready for school to start, but it's coming! My room is still a complete disaster, although you can now see several patches of floor. Most of my nasty pink wall is gone, and I have a new layout that hopefully will help this year. I'm not ready to leave Daniel. We have had a lot of fun this summer. He has learned so much! He is running, throwing a ball, trying to shoot it! (This really impresses me since he has never seen a basketball hoop until a birthday party) He is so smart!! his vocabulary is huge! Today in Wal-Mart he pointed to the Tea and said "box" It blows my mind how he puts things together. He can spot a ball from 100 yrds away and Pooh too. I love being a Mom! It is the greatest thing ever! I have enjoyed the last 19 months and just can't wait to see what is coming! Daniel is going to keep his parents on their toes. What else has Daniel done... he loves to watch a playgroup video and asks for "and me! and me! and me!" and turns on the TV. He sings along and does what the kids are doing on TV.

Well it's been a very busy several months. School has kept me quite busy as well as Daniel. Daniel has had a very busy month. It started out with an ear infection in early April. Then a couple of weeks later he was not feeling good. We had planned to take him to the Dr. the next day. He started running a fever, we gave him Tylenol then 30 mins. later he started seizing. He was breathing shallow enough that we called the ambulance. Daniel and I rode to the hospital and Daddy followed. Daniel had a clean CBC and urinalysis and we went home. The next day he got an antibiotic shot, oral antibiotics for an ear infection. That day he continued to run a high fever, another CBC that came back clean. Strep culture the next day. That's when Daddy noticed a blister like rash on the bottom of his feet. We called the Dr. and told them we were coming up. 10 minutes into the drive and it was spreading up to his knees. There were also spots on his head. The Dr. sent us to the ER (joy joy). By that time he had several spots in various places. The ER doc was great! He looked into Daniel's mouth and diagnosed him with "Hand, food, and mouth" Very different than hoof and mouth! We got a nice medicine to help numb his mouth so that he could swallow. I missed a week of work to stay home with my little sick one. It was so scarry. Four days of fever with no answers. I was so worried. After the spots came out, it only took a couple of days for Daniel to feel better. We had to stay home for 3 days because we were all contagious. We are all so thankful that Daniel is better and back to his old tricks.
He's walking and getting into everything. He is now using some of the baby sign language eat, milk, more! It is so cute and so precious. Enough for now. The last two weeks have many story to tell, but they will wait.

Well, not quite a month later, and well no pictures. Sorry. I am just writing real quick before bed. Daniel is walking!!! He started taking a step about 3 weeks ago and just this week he will take several! He is so proud of himself. Daddy and Mommy are proud too. He can toddle almost across the room. I have it on video. I don't know how to get that on here. But soon, real soon I promise pictures. We went for his 1 year on Wednesday. He weighs 28 1/2 pounds and is 32 inches tall. At 13 months he is as heavy as a 4 year old at church. Because he is so tall, he is not fat. Daniel is eating pasta, chicken and rice, bread. He's almost completely off baby food. It's now the supplement. Daniel says dog, door, yeah!, thank you, and lots more. Well bedtime. More later.

Snow Day!
Our first big winter storm this winter has created 2 snow days!! School was out today and will be out tomorrow! It's nice to have the break, but I'm not too fond of having to make them up. It was nice to have the day to spend with Daniel. He is so close to walking. He is playing ball. He will pick up the ball and throw it over his head and watch it bounce. It is so amazing to watch his brain work. To watch him change from day to day. Yesterday he was eating "O's" and shredded motz. cheese. I looked over and he was trying to put the cheese in the "O's". It was really amazing. Daniel loves to open and close lids. Scott taught him how to put the lid back on the baby food jar, he doesn't screw it back on, but he enjoys placing the lid back on the jar! It's hard to believe that this thinking, changing, self-motivated, on the move little boy is the same so very helpless not so little baby we brought home 13 months ago. Wow! I promise pictures next time I post. Maybe Daniel will give me a break tomorrow long enough to download pictures.

Birthday Boy
Well this is several days after Daniel's much anticipated 1st birthday, but we've been sick off and on since Thanksgiving, much to my dismay he does have my lungs. Daniel started out with a cough and runny nose and then progressed. He took a round of antibiotics and seemed to get better. Then about a week before Christmas break, he got worse. We went in and started our second round of antibiotic. By the end of the week I saw no improvement, so I called the Dr. They said wait for 3 more days if not better come in. Daniel was not acting sick, just had a junky cough. We had his 1st Birthday on the Sat before. It was a blast. Daniel liked playing in his cake. He didn't distroy it, he just patted the cake and smiled. Daddy fed him a piece. He was not impressed. Daniel enjoyed opening his presents! It was more fun for Daniel than I expected. Needless to say birthdays are a big drain on Mommys and Daddys!
So we went to the Drs on Christmas Eve and came home with more antibiotic, 2 sore legs from shots and a diagnosis of pneumonia. The shots helped a bunch! Daniel was doing better and enjoyed Christmas with both grandparents. He was still coughing, but had fun ripping wrapping paper off of everyone's gifts. It's nice to have your own personal gift opener. :) I would love to put pictures of birthday and Christmas, but I don't know that I have still pictures, just video. Anyway I'll look and see. Hopefully in the next day or so I'll have some time to write about all that Daniel is doing now.
Wow one year, doesn't even seem possible!
